Our Pastor, the Rev. Andrew Clark, joined us in September 2022 along with his wife Tracy and two daughters, and has an adult son living away from home. Andrew has been in full time church ministry since 2001, serving for a time with The Salvation Army, through whose ministry he was converted to Christ, and that is where he was initially ordained and comissioned as a minister. He has also worked as a chaplain in a secondment to the Scottish Prison Service.
He was born and brought up in Irvine, North Ayrshire, but has deep family roots on the Isle of Arran. Until June 2024, Andrew was ministering part time with us and also working part time at Sannox Christian Centre as the Centre and Ministry Team Leader. Growth and development in the church means he know works in full time ministry with us, but he remains engaged in the ministry at Sannox on a volunteer basis, where he leads regular retreats and teaching days as well as serving as a trustee.
Andrew trained for ministry at the International Christian College in Glasgow, followed by some time at William Booth College in London. He has subsequently been awarded an MA in Mission from Cliff College, and is currently on sabbatical from studying for Doctor of Ministry degree. Andrew has wide musical interests, including brass bands, choirs, and shapenote singing. He also plays piano, and regularly leads worship from the piano on Sundays. He is also a prolific knitter, so if you ever need a woolly hat, you know where to come!
Andrew's passion in ministry is to preach the gospel and equip the body of Christ to reach its potential. He has a heart for mission and outreach, and enjoys getting involved in the community amongst people beyond the gathered church. Andrew is keen to spend time with anyone who could use pastoral support or a listening ear.
